Fixing common PDF printing problems

Most PDF printing woes are settings, not the file. Work through these before blaming the document.

Content cut off

Choose "fit to printable area" so content inside the margins is not clipped by the printer's hardware border.

Wrong size

Match the paper size to the document, and turn off any "scale to fit" that is shrinking or enlarging unexpectedly.

Slow or failing prints

A very heavy PDF can choke a printer. Flatten or compress it, or print as image if a complex page will not render.
