A pre-print checklist for PDFs

A quick check before printing — especially a paid print run — saves paper, money and reprints.

Before you print

1. Fonts are embedded so nothing substitutes.
2. Page size matches the paper.
3. Margins are inside the printable area.
4. Colour mode suits the printer (CMYK for professional print).
5. No stray blank pages.

For professional printing

Supply a PDF/X file with embedded fonts and a defined colour profile so the printer gets exactly what you designed.
