Editing PDFs
How to crop a PDF page
Cropping hides everything outside a rectangle you choose — perfect for killing scanner shadows, wide margins, or focusing on one figure.
Crop vs delete
Cropping changes the visible page box; it does not delete the underlying content, it just stops showing it. That keeps the option to un-crop later.
Good uses
- Removing black scanner edges.
- Tightening oversized margins before printing.
- Isolating a chart to drop into a slide.
Watch the print size
Cropping changes the page dimensions, so check how it prints — a heavily cropped page may need "fit to page" when printing.
